Accounting & Taxation: Checkpoint Edge Database

Checkpoint Database Overview

CHECKPOINT REGISTRATION (personalized IDs & remote access)

PLEASE NOTE:

  • Use a laptop or PC for registration (cannot register via phone or tablet)
  • Must have a myGGU login and a GGU Email Address to register (contact help@ggu.edu if you do not know your ggu email or myGGU login credentials)
  • Process can take up to 10 seconds (be patient if you initially see a blank screen when registering from off-campus)
  • IMPORTANT information for PASSWORD CHANGE:
    • You may have to expand the browser window to FULL SCREEN in order to be able to complete any PASSWORD CHANGE after receiving your initial temporary password
    • Screen is best viewed with a screen resolution of 1024 x 768 to see all information.

    • If the users screen resolution is lower than that, they may not see the buttons at the bottom of the dialog window.

    • The Checkpoint window is also designed to show toward the middle of the screen, to ensure it is visible.

    • Many times the user’s lower resolution causes the window to go out of scope.

    • A quick way to resolve this is to hold down the CTRL key on the keyboard, then hit the minus key, to zoom out.

Additional Information:

  • Convenient Access to Checkpoint is available with your personal ID via the library once Registration is complete: http://ggu.libguides.com/az.php?a=c
  • A non-personalized version of Checkpoint is available via the library while on campus: see the Business Library Databases List
  • The personalized IDs have additional functionality that’s not available through the IP authenticated library access (i.e. highlight, add notes, create folders, save documents, etc.). See pdf document below.
  • Once the personalized Checkpoint ID has been issued, Checkpoint can be accessed from any location or device that has internet access.
  • The registered IDs are temporary and will automatically expire at the end of the trimester (April 30th, August 31st, or December 31st). If access to Checkpoint is needed after the ID has expired, the user will need to re-register using the attached instructions to have their ID reactivated.

  • To validate the domain and to help prevent abuse, students must use their @my.ggu.edu email address and faculty must use their @ggu.edu email address for Checkpoint. Anyone found not adhering to this policy will be flagged as an “unauthorized user” and their Checkpoint login will be deleted from the system. Once a Checkpoint ID has been removed, it cannot be recovered.
