This guide provides resources to assist with conducting US Supreme Court research. This is not an exhaustive list of resources, but rather, a selected list of quality resources. .
Under BlueBook Rule 8, capitalize "Court" anytime you are referring to the United States Supreme Court. In contrast, if you are just referring to any court generally (including lower courts), then "court" would not be capitalized.
The Supreme Court Building, located at One First Street, NE, in Washington, DC, is the permanent home of the Court. Completed in 1935, the Building is open to the public Monday–Friday, 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. and is closed on weekends and federal holidays.
