Accessing Library Databases

This guide provides information on logging in to the library databases.

Accessing Databases

Accessing Library Databases

The databases provided by the Business Library are collections of licensed materials (articles, ebooks, etc.) available for academic research to currently enrolled Golden Gate University Business School students, faculty, and staff.

A select few of the databases are available to Alumni, but licensing agreements restrict access to these resources in most cases to only those with a myGGU login through a system called OpenAthens.

OpenAthens will prompt you to authenticate as a GGU-affiliated person with your myGGU credentials any time you attempt to access a library electronic resource.

If you are a current student, faculty member, or staff person and do not know your myGGU credentials please contact itservicedesk@ggu.edu to request. If you are an alumni or DBA student who is not currently registered for classes please contact the library at askalibrarian@ggu.edu to see which options might exist for access.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is myGGU?

For more information, please see http://www.ggu.edu/sso.

I was using a library database and got a message saying that my session has expired.

This sometimes happens after a period of keyboard inactivity or closing your browser. Click on the database web link to start again. Some databases have a limited number of concurrent users. If you get a message stating that the database is unavailable, try again at a later time.

I'm an alumni. How do I access the library databases?

If you have an activated OpenAthens login, you can continue to use it until it expires.
For more library-related alumni information please see http://ggu.libguides.com/alumni or contact askalibrarian@ggu.edu

Accessibility

We provide access to the databases through the library's website. Some database vendors are better than others at providing information related to Accessibility. Any information available is typically included in the help link of the database.
