Assaying Class from GGU's early years in the YMCA. Assaying is used to identify and examine the basic elements or parts of something, especially for discovering interrelationships the company assayed a sample of the rock to see if it contained gold in quantities worth mining (Merriam-Webster). This was an important skill, given the Bay Area's mining history, students could acquire from GGU in its early years.
