Getting Started with Finance Research
|
This guide highlights the University Library's resources for finance research, including finding facts and figures on companies and industries. In addition, there is a section on finding articles in finance. The majority of these databases contain articles from finance-related, peer-reviewed journals and popular magazines (i.e. The Economist). These can be helpful if concepts or evidence is needed to explain a position. To best use this guide, follow the tabs above to locate different types of financial resources. Please remember you can always ask a librarian if you are not finding what you are looking for. |
Finance Books in the Library
If you are interested in finding books about Finance through the University Library, there are two tools to familiarize yourself with. The first is the University Library catalog, where you can search for many different types of materials, but this is the main resource for finding books in the library. If you are looking for a book on Finance, try using the "Subject Heading" search feature for "Finance." The following screen will have a list of all Finance-related subject headings, which is how the library organizes its materials; try the clicking the "Related Subjects" link to find subject headings that are similar or complementary to finance.
The second tool is Ebrary, which is a catalog of all of the library's e-books, or books that can be read online, from any computer with an Internet connection. You can search for any word or phrase in e-books and read them online on both PCs and Macs, so try a general seach for "Finance" or any finance-related topic of your interest.
