When accessing a GGU database that requires a secure connection, Internet Explorer 7 may display an error and deny access to the site.
To access the database, you must add a security exception for the site to Internet Explorer.
The following GGU databases/services use secure connections:
- Economist Intelligence Unit
- RefWorks
- Lexis-Nexis
- Ebrary (when using the "sign in" feature to access a personalized bookshelf)
To fix the problem, do the following when the error occurs with Internet Explorer 7:
- Click Continue to this website (not recommended).
- Click the Certificate Error button to open the information window.
- Click View Certificates, and then click Install Certificate.
- On the warning message that appears, click Yes to install the certificate.
A red Address Bar and a certificate warning appear.
Note: If your computer has Windows Vista installed, it may be necessary to first exit Internet Explorer, right-click the Internet Explorer icon, and select Run as Administrator before performing the above steps.
